Crescent Point Energy Trust completes $230 million offering of trust units

    ANY UNITED STATES NEWS SERVICES/CALGARY, March 24 /CNW/ - Crescent Point Energy Trust ("Crescent Point"
or the "Trust") has closed its recently announced equity offering (the
"Offering") of 10,825,000 trust units at $21.25 per trust unit for aggregate
gross proceeds of approximately $230 million. The syndicate of underwriters
for the Offering was co-led by BMO Capital Markets, Scotia Capital Inc. and
CIBC World Markets Inc., and included RBC Capital Markets, FirstEnergy Capital
Corp., TD Securities Inc., GMP Securities L.P., National Bank Financial and
Tristone Capital Inc.
    The net proceeds of the financing will be used to fund a portion of the
Trust's recently announced acquisition of assets from affiliates of Talisman
Energy Inc.
    The first cash distribution in which these trust units will be entitled
to participate will be for the month of March 2009, which will be paid on
April 15, 2009.

    The trust units of Crescent Point have not and will not be registered
under the United States Securities Act of 1933, as amended (the "U.S.
Securities Act") or any state securities laws and may not be offered or sold
in the United States or to any U.S. person except in certain transactions
exempt from the registration requirements of the U.S. Securities Act and
applicable state securities laws.

    Crescent Point is a conventional oil and gas income trust with assets
strategically focused in properties comprised of high quality, long life,
